In the Storm Drain
Once there, they spoke with the lady who had phoned for help and then left. She led them to a spot from where she could hear the animals and gave a rundown of what had transpired. The lady had walked up to a massive storm drain and was observing it. She assured them they could hear the wildlife on the ground if they listened carefully. It seemed like they were in a lot of pain and suffering, and they were weeping. Firefighters were glad it wasn’t the wet season, when the critters would have been swept away.
