Although cats are the animals most often associated with firemen, these heroes help a wide variety of animals in need. The number of dogs, hamsters, reptiles, birds, and other domesticated creatures that end themselves in perilous circumstances is shockingly high. Although firefighters aren’t specifically trained to handle exotic animals, they will rush to the rescue of any animal in danger. To a first responder, all animals are the same.
