To determine what sort of coin it was, Kate brought the coin to the neighborhood museum. The future? Perhaps she had been harboring a genuine treasure secretly in that drawer for years.
She then allowed a researcher working at the museum to thoroughly inspect the coin after showing it to him. After some time, he broke the bad news to her: it wasn’t a coin.
