Macey had no idea what her grandfather was planning. She loved him, she really did, but the distressed call she had received from him the day before was already far away in the back of her mind. Life had been tough in recent years, tougher than her grandfather could imagine. He had done his best to raise her, and Macey didn’t want to break his heart by letting him know how bad things had got.
