During Erica’s pregnancy, her dislike for her mother-in-law grew. In preparation to welcome their son, she and Marcus drove to the hospital at the end of her third trimester. Her mother-in-law was not permitted into the delivery room, however.
Giving birth is both challenging and private. After losing Kelly and hearing the woman’s scathing remarks about her past, she was still struggling to recover. Upon learning the whole story, the doctor was eager to ban the mother-in-law from the delivery room. She wouldn’t have made the decision if she knew they would all end up in court.
