Maria flipped the girl around in the mirror as the day came to an end. What had once been a mass of matted curls had been reduced to a more manageable lump of tangled hair. The girl grinned for the first time today. Maria was aware that there was still work to be done. She replied with a smile and asked if the girl could come back the following day.
