Was She Okay?
Maria motioned to her customer, “Excuse me, Lucy,” and then scurried out into the busy street. She yelled, “Hey!” The young woman was about to turn a corner. Maria beckoned, “Come back.” The girl halted and turned around. Her lips trembled, and she appeared to be afraid. Moving her gaze away from Maria. Maria pleaded once more, her lips wrinkling slightly. She had to find out if the girl was okay.
