The 3/3/3 Rule
Dogs may be the best friend a human being will ever have, but they don’t generally warm up to their new owner or owners right away. It takes time, which is where the 3/3/3 Rule comes in. This guideline explains in detail the adjustment period dogs go through after they are adopted. Essentially, a dog will slowly learn to feel at home over a period of 3 months. Until then, there are a lot of behaviors that may manifest, so be patient and understanding.
