JFK Jr. was engaged for a year to Carolyn Bassette, a publicist for Calvin Klein. In 1996, he and Bassette were married in a small ceremony on a remote island in Georgia. JFK Jr. and Bassette tried to keep their relationship and marriage a secret, but it wasn’t long before the press became aware of their relationship.
