Cracking The Case
Tim had scrutinized the tree from close-up, inhaling sharply when his theory was confirmed. He snapped several photos and hurried back home, eager to crack Miles’s mom’s case open.
Before doing anything else, he hurried to the police station to report what he’d found. But the authorities weren’t very interested in his evidence. They couldn’t imagine that a species of tree would be the clue that opened up a case that had been firmly shut for over two years.
