Women are Expected to do all the Housework and Cooking
Men and women are expected to stick to their established roles among the Amish. Women take care of the housework and cooking while males go out and make a living. They are the breadwinners, cooks, and cleaners of the family while women are responsible for childrearing.
According to some non-believers, seeing the Amish is like getting a peek of how our forefathers and foremothers lived. In traditional cultures, women are expected to be solely responsible for the upkeep of the home and never leave its confines to pursue paid employment. The world has altered so drastically!
