Although Amish women are expected to adhere to a rigorous clothing code that prohibits the use of buttons or jewelry, it seems that Amish males have their own set of peculiar regulations.
In her blog, Jonna highlighted one of the most peculiar: “Amish males aren’t permitted to wear back pockets.” As we tried to come up with an explanation, Jonna offered her own: “It’s so the Amish ladies aren’t tempted to check out their friend’s spouses.” They’ll be drawn to your pockets, you know. So, that settles it.
