Jonna mentions several instances in her blog when Daniel had trouble adapting to contemporary life.
In retrospect, she realizes It’s a story I’ll never forget: “He tried to warm up some cheese for a soft pretzel by filling the sink full with hot water.” Jonna thought this humorous, and she says, “I tried as hard as I could to keep my voice quiet, but failed.” She recalled, “Inside I was dying with laughter but I also sort of felt terrible for him,” and then she screamed, “David, you have a microwave.” Perhaps their differences helped them get closer to one another. Welp, you’ve made it to the modern era.
