Electing Religious Heads in Their Society
Jonna fills us in on the ins and outs of how the church chooses its spiritual leaders, and it’s as cute and quirky as you’d imagine. The people of the church pick and vote for the candidates they believe are a suitable match.
Votes are counted, and the top contenders are chosen. Next, we give each candidate a hymn book, and we tell them to look for a “piece of paper with a poem written on it” hidden in one of the hymn books. The books are mixed up, handed out, and the winner is determined by the slip of paper they happen to be holding. Well that’s one unusual and random method to vote!
