There Was No Question
The doctor gave Jolene a choice of whether or not she wanted to have the surgery. She could decline, but she was already told that the surgery was in the best interest of the baby, so she didn’t have to think twice. She knew without even consulting her husband that she wanted to have the surgery if their baby was at risk in any way whatsoever. So she waited for the doctor to take her in to the operating room.
