DiPietro told NPR that the responding officers were really puzzled by the intruder’s lack of response. “That was confusing because usually, when you say, ‘We’ve got a dog,’ people are done. They’re like, ‘OK, I’m not fighting a dog!’ and they’ll just give up,” he said. But there was more happening on the other side of the door than the officers realized and soon enough, it would turn into a pretty ridiculous situation.
