An Awful Moment
“Would you like to join me at the dance?” Coby stutters. He could deal with Lizzy saying no in his head, even though he knew he wouldn’t like it. His thinking advised him that the worst thing that could happen was her saying no.
“Ew. Not in a million years,” Lizzie exclaimed, stepping back and rolling her eyes as an inexplicable fire flared within her eyes. The kids walking by all stood up and burst out laughing and jeering. Still, it wasn’t the worst thing that happened.
