Coby’s nervousness mounted as the prom approached. Lizzy had previously been asked to the dance by some of those football players, but she had declined. Perhaps she was expecting him to ask her.
When he discovered that the loveliest girl in school was keeping herself for him, Coby stepped up his efforts. Initially, he had intended to ask her at lunch or at one of their movie weekends, but now he would have to go all out.
