Seeing Her
Cheryl was wheeled into the operating room by the nurses. Eventually, one of them approached Elvis after several hours of agonizing silence.
“You can see her now,” she said softly, almost without emotion. Elvis didn’t wait a single second for her to elaborate. All he wanted was to be by Cheryl’s side.
It was impossible for him to get into Cheryl’s room quickly enough.
