Peter really didn’t want to shell out the extra money for the “better” tools. Though he still had faith in his ax, he realized that for his own safety he needed to equip himself with the greatest tools available, or at least the best non-mechanical equipment available. Even though he wouldn’t be wielding a chainsaw, the situation was nonetheless potentially hazardous.
