An Explanation
Peter wanted to stay with the firefighters and provide any assistance he could. After all, it was his house that was under danger, so he couldn’t just sit back and let everyone else pitch in. However, the commander has insisted that he remain behind so that he may provide an explanation. Peter relates the incident and then listens as the chief explains what the firefighters should do.
