Georgia Pillar

This natural limestone monolith located in western Georgia looks especially impressive from a drone’s perspective. Called the Katskhi pillar, this formation has the ruins of a Christian church located on top of it. Inside this church are a crypt, wine cellar, and three rooms for hermits. There are many local legends about the history of this pillar, but how exactly it was ascended back in the 10th century remains a bit of a mystery.
