Don’t Be So Trusting
I was at this massive party at a local bar, and I really wanted a cigarette. I spotted a few girls and asked them if they had one. I didn’t want to just bum one, so I told them I would exchange it for a coupon I had for free Mcdonald’s fries. One of the girls looked at me and told me yes and grabbed her cigarettes, and then I gave her the coupon. After snatching my fry ticket, she put her cigarettes back in her bag and advised me to “go away.”
I was very frustrated at that moment and tried to bargain with her. In response, she invited a couple of male friends over and claimed I had unfairly accused her of stealing from me, and all of her pals agreed. I stared her in the eyes, and she said, “Your trust should not be so blind.”. The following Monday morning, my company was conducting interviews, and as I walked through the office, I noticed the girl from the party that stole my coupon. I approached the person who was doing the interviews and told him that she was known for stealing. My exit was marked by a smile and a wave. Apparently, she did not recognize me.
