The villagers weren’t solely selfish in their reasoning to kill the animal. They wanted to protect their crops and the crocodile could supply some much needed meat to the villagers for a while. An animal of that size was enough to feed a few dozen people, so they thought that their solution was as good as any of Michael’s ideas. But Jason wasn’t out of the picture just yet.
