Long-Term Consequences
Michael knew that killing the animal would solve the problem immediately, but he was more focused on the long-term nature of the situation. That was just the way that his mind worked. Maybe it was because of his farming knowledge, but he knew that focusing on the long-term bettering of his village was beneficial. After all, his friends always trusted him to make good decisions.
