He showed footage that was aired with his face completely visible. It was the footage before being distorted by the channel, that Denis had kept. The distortion was done to create an air of mystery around the character of Noah. It did the trick since millions of people got caught up in the story and followed it as it was developing. A very anti-climactic ending, unfortunately.
