Branik12 cut a hole in the ceiling, revealing the piping and beams above. However, the lighting in the basement was terrible, so he was unable to determine what the green thing was.
He climbed down the ladder and grabbed a flashlight to examine the situation more closely. Upon taking a closer look, he recognized it immediately. A green metal box was hidden among the ductwork in the ceiling.
