The second, heavier crate contained even more outdated currency. A newspaper piece from 1951 was also stowed away within, much like the previous box. However, as they removed the covering, they saw something else.
Not all of the items in this box were neatly arranged on top of one another. Instead, the old banknotes, a mix of $20s, $50s, and $100s, were stacked vertically in the box. The sum of the couple’s findings was tallied at $10,000. And that didn’t even account for the unusual notes that were thrown in there! Having their discovery valued was now a need.
