A steel pipe
And there it was: a long, steel pipe. It looked like it came from the shuttle, from somewhere inside the engine. It was caked in black soot, perhaps from the exhaust of the rocket ship. It was still a bit warm, but it can be handled. The long steel pipe fits almost perfectly in the bent open section of the hole.
