When they arrived at the store, they learned that four teenagers came to buy that brand of gum every day. The store clerk agreed to show them security footage of the group, giving the police their first truly promising lead.
But first, they would have to identify the teens. The video was sent in to the police headquarters for facial analysis, and the wrapper for fingerprint analysis.
Then, the authorities headed back to Lady Liberty to reveal their discovery to Lucas.
