A Normal Start
The morning had started out with Lucas arriving at work as usual. He took over from the guard on the night shift after clocking in and got started with the guards’ usual routine of circling the statue once an hour and monitoring the security footage the rest of the time.
Initially, everything seemed to be perfectly normal. But as Lucas approached the statue’s base, he spotted something that looked unusual. To most people, the small detail would disappear.
But a decade’s experience meant that Lucas could instantly identify something out of place.
