Difficulty Getting Out
Kenya frequently experiences long periods of rain which causes water bodies to fill to the brim. Due to this, any animal or person who walks in the surrounding areas is at risk of slipping in the mud. Once the rain stops, the neighborhood near the dam keeps an eye out for any elephants caught in the mud.
Elephants’ limbs are so stiff that moving out of these muddy regions is extremely challenging for them. Some are saved in time, but others abandon the will to struggle and succumb to death.
