Villagers always go out to look for animals who are stuck in the mud after heavy rains. One afternoon, they spotted a female elephant who was in immediate need of help. She was in a muddy area right next to the dam.
The elephant had been mired in the mud for about two days and was unresponsive. They did not attempt to save the elephants themselves because they lacked the skills of Dr. Avery and his colleagues. So naturally, they contacted Dr. Avery immediately.
