Other Presence
They all heard the rustle from behind them before they felt something prickle the back of their necks. They now knew that something was standing in the woods just off the road behind them, watching them closely.
They realized that the fawn must’ve been aware of the other presence all along. Maybe that was why it was laying so still and trying to look small.
