His Goodbye Letter
Bob had to write a goodbye letter before going to war. This was typical procedure for troops on perilous operations to bring closure if anything awful occurred. Bob took his letter seriously, unlike some troops. He never let anybody read it, not even his closest army pals.
Bob clearly took the letter seriously, and many of his friends worried about what he wrote. Some believed it included a sincere farewell and wise comments, while others thought it was a practical document with his last wishes and funeral instructions. The letter was personal to Bob, and he intended to keep it that way.
