Bob and his squad were not told their destination before their trip to ensure confidentiality and deter espionage. Bob and his colleagues boarded the aircraft blindfolded, adding to documents that were later made public.
Bob, a rookie corporal, had never seen such harsh measures before and wondered whether they would be dealing with high-level spies. Bob concentrated on the objective and believed in his bosses’ motives for secrecy despite his doubts. His squad boarded the aircraft ready for any problems.
