He Got Promoted
Doris was proud of her son’s military career despite her worries. She knew he had fought hard to reach where he was, and she was pleased that his promotions had lessened the probability of his fighting on the front lines. Bob was promoted to corporal after working hard. After being promoted, Bob was deployed.
Doris hoped her son would return soon and worried for his safety. She felt anxiety every time she thought about him becoming a corporal and taking on greater duties and risks. She believed Bob would return home safely since he was strong and competent.
