Recent Footsteps
There were footsteps imprinted on the dusty floor. Someone had been in here, and it wasn’t long ago. Maggie’s heart began to race as she slowly followed the trace of footsteps. They led her up the stairs and into a room. Maggie carefully placed her ear against the closed door to hear if someone were inside.
