The restaurant was 6 miles from their home, which meant that it was a 12-mile trip to work and back. They needed to figure out how Jaylesya would get there every morning because none of the busses ran that route and she didn’t have a driver’s license.
Marvin did have a car, but given the recent changes, his shifts were unpredictable. Sometimes he was forced to work the nightshift, other weeks he would have to do early mornings. This meant that he wouldn’t always be able to take her to the restaurant. But Jaylesya knew what she had to do.
