Heidi and her mom Kay were over the moon when she was accepted into the UK’s University of Newcastle to study economics and management. They had become somewhat estranged from extended family so spent a lot of time together – making the move hard on both of them. After a year in a shared apartment, Heidi felt comfortable enough to move into her own studio. Then, one day, she received a message from a stranger on Facebook begging for help.
