Disturbing Noises
Dolly heard scratching noises which broke her away from the novel she was reading. The noise was coming from the front lawn, but she ignored it, thinking it was just another one of the neighborhood pets playing in her area.
But Dolly got up when the scratching turned into whining. Something had to be wrong for them to make noises like that.
