Although initially reluctant to accept help from humans, the cubs quickly realized that the men only wanted to help the bears out of the water. And it’s not like they had any other choice but to allow them to help! The alternative would have been to just drown or attempt to swim back to land, which didn’t seem to be possible in that moment. And the fishermen knew exactly how the bears felt from their years of experience on the water.
