They Looked for a Safe Place to Dock
The fishermen drove their boat around the lake looking for the area of land in Lake Vygozero where the cubs’ mother was at. They knew this was risky since the mother could easily reject her young and attack them in the process. But their gut instinct told them that the mother bear would be overjoyed to see them. After all, she was in a dangerous situation herself, and they didn’t know why she left her young behind.
