The fishermen had recorded their experience with the cubs on camera to share with others. They figured some people might judge the mother bear for abandoning her young, but this behavior is quite common for animals who are stuck in a life or death situation. It’s easy to judge the mother bear for her actions, but it’s much harder to imagine her situation of looking for some food to keep her family alive during a harsh winter.
