Maya started assessing Eleanor’s every move whenever she visited. She noticed a few things that raised her eyebrows. First, Eleanor never used any bottle of shampoo on Emma.
Second, she didn’t use the assortment of ointments and lotions Maya bought for the baby. Instead, she carried her own ointments and lotions.
These items were the tamest of what she usually carried in her bag. But things changed when Maya saw the water from Emma’s bath.
