Feeling Defeated
He felt defeated. He didn’t understand why his mother was suddenly treating him this way. He had done nothing wrong, not in his eye, at least. He went over the past week and the days after his father’s death over and over in his head, trying to figure out where it went wrong, but there was nothing that stood out to him.
