Alex picked up the phone, his stomach contorted in a knot. “You’re suing me?!” she angrily said to him. “Hi, Mother,” Alex said in return. “Good to finally hear from you again.” His mother proceeded to yell at him, telling him he had no idea what he was doing or what he was getting himself into.
