The Great Barrier Reef
Like the Iranian desert, the astronaut crew at the International Space Station had no idea what this was when they first took a snap of it. At a glance it looks like something one would expect to see through a microscope. Others might say it looks like a glacier floating free from a landmass. But this is actually the Great Barrier Reef seen from thousands of miles above. But the next photo is both beautiful and terrifying.
