Hurricane Isabel
Hurricane Isabel caused a great deal of devastation when it hit the east coast of the United States in 2003. Since hurricanes bring heavy rains, high winds, tornadoes and flooding, people on Earth don’t have the luxury of admiring them. But from outer space, the astronauts saw what looked like a swirl of clouds with a hole in the middle moving across the water towards the landmass. And while the storm was beautiful, the crew was well aware that the devastation it caused was terrible.
