Sympathy
That evening, Jeffrey took a step back and tried to look at the issue from both perspectives. Naturally, he wasn’t going to change his mind, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t have sympathy for the other parents’ concerns.
He could see why those who opposed him were unhappy – they weren’t aware of all sides of the story, and he knew that wasn’t their fault.
However, it didn’t mean that he would change his mind and support their viewpoint.
